ChickaBee Studios - Jill Nixon

Manhattan based potter, Jill Nixon, fell in love with clay in 2018.  After teaching herself to throw on a potter’s wheel, her passion for creating fun and functional pieces quickly turned into a small business, ChickaBee Studios. 

Jill’s work is inspired by the things she most loves; nature, community, family, animals and fun.  She specializes in creating functional work; such as mugs and bowls.  She likes knowing that people enjoy her work on a daily basis while having a cup of coffee or a bowl full of noodles.  Jill’s work is ever changing as she is always exploring new forms, designs and techniques.

Along with the permanent booth at Eclectic Charm, Jill’s work is also available at local holiday art and craft shows.  Jill has been a featured artist for the Flint Hills Discovery Center’s “March Meet the Maker” and The Flint Hills Festival where she demonstrates throwing clay on the wheel at the daylong events.  Jill has been featured in the Manhattan City Lifestyle Magazine, The Riley Countian and on the Pod Cast “Levi Bailey’s - Art Joy
