Our First Featured Artist - Jake Nixon

Jake Nixon is the son of the potter and owner of ChickaBee Studios.  When Jill began playing around with the idea of collaborating with local artists for the series, he graciously agreed to help her figure out how the collaboration would work. 

He decided on a series of birds for the first release.  The paintings and hand glazed mugs feature four sweet birds; the Meadowlark titled “The 2-Phrase Song”, the Cardinal “A slow Trill to Finish, the Hummingbird “Chip-Notes to Follow and the Chickadee, “Pure, 3-Note Whistle. “

Jake recently received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University.  He is currently pursuing his passion and other talent; brewing beer at Tall Grass Tap House on Poyntz Avenue.  Stop by and sample some of his tasty brews!
