Here is the explanation of the the clues: (Did you figure most of them out on your own?)

Ceramic Scramble 2024

Today day is the day, it is finally here

The ground is unfrozen so never you fear.

Our 4th annual scramble is oh so much fun

You need to be first, but don’t speed just run!

The theme this year many will know

You’ll figure it out quickly, then off you’ll go

We are a fun town full of history and pride

Some may be quirky come along for the ride

THIS YEAR'S THEME WAS STATUES

The first of the five watches over our town

He does not have an ox, but please don’t you frown

Look around by the base to find what you seek

His name is not Paul and he was not meek

THIS WAS THE JOHNY KAW STATUE IN CITY PARK (a lot of people think he is Paul Bunyan)

The second you’ll find in a garden so sweet

Sit by him on a bench and it will be neat

Our campus offers flowers and bugs

If you find this piece, give yourself some big hugs

This one was at the KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY BUTTERFLY GARDENS on a bench with a memorial statue.  They also have an insect zoo.  Check it out!

The third one is special to those who have served

My family among them, it is well deserved

When you are here, know of all that they lost

The price of freedom is so great a cost

There are 2 war memorials in Manhattan (that I know of). This one was at the Vietnam War Memorial.  My dad served in Vietnam when I was only 6 weeks old.)

The fourth has a horse and a rider that shadow over this land

If you have a round disc, then fun is at hand

A nice green spot when summer is here

If you make par or better your friends will all cheer

This one is of the Horse and Rider Statue at Warner Park.  The statue is on the top of the hill.  There is also a frisbee golf course here.

The last one to find is one of the best

It’s a little obscure and may be harder than the rest

This marks the place of his last college speech

To say that he changed things is not a far reach

This memorial statue is right outside of Ahearn Field House.  It is in Honor of Doctor Martin Luther King.  He gave his last college speech her before he was assassinated.   I believe that this speech was found in his pocket when he was shot.

If you aren’t in Manhattan, please don’t be sad

You can win one online, so you will be glad

Head to the socials to see how to win

If we draw you name, you’ll have a big grin!

Thank you for playing, we hope you had fun

Be sure to post pictures to show that you won

It’s our way to say thanks for the love that we feel

You all are so aweome, you support us with zeal!
