I create handcrafted pottery for everyday life, pieces that feel good to use, bring personality to your routines, and make ordinary moments feel a little more special.
ChickaBee Pottery is a one-woman pottery studio based in Kansas, focused primarily on small-batch handmade mugs and ramen bowls, along with limited seasonal and decorative pottery collections throughout the year.
I started working with clay in 2018, teaching myself as I went, and eventually found that the pieces I loved making most were the ones people could actually use. I’m inspired by nature, the changing seasons, life here in Kansas, and the little details that make a home feel like your own.
I like my functional pottery to have personality, whether that comes through color, texture, a fun little detail, a quirky character, or simply something that makes you smile when you reach for it.
Because every piece is made by hand, each one has its own subtle variations in shape, glaze, and finish. That individuality is part of what gives handcrafted pottery its character and makes each piece feel a little more personal.
Much of my work is rooted in the things that make up real life: morning coffee, dinner at home, sharing something with a friend, choosing a thoughtful gift, or bringing out a favorite seasonal piece year after year. One of my favorite parts of ChickaBee Pottery is hearing from customers across the country about where their new pottery has found a place in their lives.
That connection between the pottery I make and the life it becomes part of is really what ChickaBee Pottery is about.
I believe ordinary days deserve good things too. The favorite mug doesn’t need to be saved for company, and dinner doesn’t need to be special to deserve a bowl you love using. Sometimes making a Tuesday feel a little better is reason enough.
I hope you find something here that becomes part of your routines, your home, and your story.
